The following user manual provides an overview and instructions for the operation of the LED light FOMEI ROLL with PhotoRobot systems. This information aims to support PhotoRobot customers in their initial understanding and first use of FOMEI LED ROLL products. Before First Use - Warnings & Safety Information
Before first use, note the following general warnings from the manufacturer:
- Ensure that the product is intact and that there are no missing parts.
- In case of damage, contact a professional service representative of FOMEI.
- When using the product, ensure the environment is dry and ventilated.
- For optimal performance, regularly clean the product using a clean cloth.
- Do not scratch or apply pressure to the product.
Additionally, ensure to adhere to the manufacturer’s safety warnings:
- Do not use your LED unit in an environment where moisture is likely to come in contact with the unit.
- Do not disassemble the product. In case of damage, contact a FOMEI service representative, or contractual service of trained professionals.
- If the product is disassembled, it will not be covered under warranty.
- Do not use the product in extreme temperatures (+50° C)
- The product is not suitable for children.
- Do not plug / unplug the device when the power is still connected.
- Do not burden light more than necessary.
- Do not restrict air vents while in use.
- Note that a fire hazard exists if flammable materials are placed in close proximity when the unit is in use.
- Avoid placing cables where they can be hazardous.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Regarding recycling and information labels, be aware this product contains electronic parts and labels for its appropriate recycling. Do not dispose of the product with general waste, and instead take it to an electronic recycling facility. Please, protect our planet.
The information label with the crossed-out bin means that within the European Union, the product:
- Must be collected separately in accordance with applicable electronic waste regulations at its end-of-life.
- This applies to the device and to all accessories marked with this symbol.
- Do not dispose of these products as unsorted municipal waste.

1. About FOMEI LED ROLL Products
FOMEI LED ROLL products are flexible continuous lights which function as an excellent alternative to classic board lights thanks to their versatility. The panel is able to bend and adapt to the scene, or function as a classic board light on a stand with X-frame.
At the same time, Velcro on the back of the panel and additional Velcro strips are usable for positioning, joining more panels together, or attaching to various surfaces.
It is possible to power the light on from the AC power supply or battery. Meanwhile, the lightweight and separate control unit allows for easy use outdoors, mounted on tall light stands, or in less accessible spaces in general.
Finally, the LED ROLL winds around a rigid cardboard tube. We recommend using this tube for storage and transport to maintain durability and protection of the panel.
2. On-Stand Usage
For on-stand usage, the FOMEI LED ROLL has holes in each corner on the back side of the device for inserting the X-frame. The X-frame must be stretched crosswise, with each end inserting into the corners on the back side of the LED ROLL panel.
In the package, there is also a positioning joint, which attaches to the cross holder (to its center). It is then possible to attach the other end to the spigot (the reduction at the top of a studio stand) of a common studio stand. This allows for unrolling of the light into a flat-shape LED panel to position as necessary.
3. Off-Stand Usage
To use the ROMEI LED ROLL without a stand, the flexible panels outside of the stand are both flexible and light weight. This allows for positioning the panel on the stage and making a wide range of shapes. It is possible for an assistant to hold the LED ROLL, or to fasten it in place with the Velcro along the entire edge of the back side of the panel. In this way, it is possible to attach several panels to each other to increase the area of the light source.
4. Softbox Usage
The softbox for the FOMEI LED ROLL consists of a folding frame, a diffuser, and a honeycomb filter. Using the Velcro strips, it is possible to unfold the frame and attach its outer edge to the front of the LED light. The Velcro around the outer edges must fold over the back of the light, and attach to the edge. Also, the frame stretches to stretch the diffusion fabric into it, which then attaches to the inner edges by Velcro. This allows the softbox to create a more homogeneous spread of light. Then, tightening the honeycomb filter also serves to direct the light and limit its flow where necessary.

Battery Installation
To insert batteries, be sure to insert the batteries completely into the holder. The battery clicks when it locks in place. To remove batteries, press the battery lock on the side of the holder, and then remove the battery.
Light ON / OFF
Always ensure the light is OFF before connecting the battery / power supply. After connecting the battery / AC adapter, then set the switch to ON. To turn the light off again, switch to the OFF position.
